Thank you to WalMart for sponsoring this post, all opinions are my own.

Ladies, gather ’round because today has been a long time coming!

I’ve finally found the perfect version of a wardrobe staple that I wear year round, need to be able to wash constantly and that doesn’t cost me a month of pre-school tuition. That’s right, today we’re talking about jean jackets!

Second only to the now famous white tee, my hunt for the dream Denim Jacket has been a tough one. I consider a denim jacket to be a year round closet staple so it needs to be just the right shade of denim – not too light for cooler months and not too dark for summer – have a tailored fit and have a bit of stretch.

I am pleased to report that, after trying on six different jean jackets, not only have I finally found a jacket that meets my requirements. but it comes in under $20. Yep, dreams really do come true! And, just like the white tee, it’s from WalMart, which means insanely fast 3 day shipping on orders over $35.

In all seriousness, the fit of this denim jacket is just right. The denim is incredibly soft and has quite a bit of stretch, which I particularly appreciate in the arms/underarm area. I find the sizing to be true to size, I’m in a large to accommodate my height (5’9″) and to account for the fact that I’m a fairly lazy laundry doer and will most likely manage to wash/dry/shrink the jacket a handful of times. Also, my fellow eighties babies are probably going to appreciate that name in the tag, it’s a throwback and I’m loving it!

I picked up this little dress (also from WalMart Fashion, hello, that price point!) to style for a date night but realized it was super cute with my denim jacket and Converse, which is honestly how I prefer to live anyway. I’m wearing a large in the dress and if you’re busty, you may want to add a little hook and eye closure at the bust if you’re looking for a bit more coverage. WalMart has amazingly easy returns so I ordered both the medium and large to test the sizing on my bust and I’m so glad I did. It also comes in a gorgeous shade of blush if you’re not into florals!

Which wardrobe staple should we tackle next??
