This month’s date night might have been one of my faves yet. In classic parent-of-young-kids fashion, we couldn’t find an available sitter, we were exhausted from adapting to the new school year schedule, and it was pouring down rain outside. So, what’s a couple to do? 
A date night at home!

We put the babes to bed, threw together our comfiest date night outfits of all time (hello, sweatpants!), broke into the stash of snacks I picked up with my cash back credit card and hunkered down for a night of quality time.
And, in a true test to our marriage, we decided to share the candy haul, but I’m not sure I’d recommend that to our fellow at home date night-ers.

When we started our always earning journey, our goals were to prioritize our quality time together and to get to know our city. Since we carved out the time at home for just the two of us, we decided to uphold our mission of falling even more in love with Charlotte in a really fun way. We spent our date night binging the TV series, “All Or Nothing,” featuring the Carolina Panthers! 

Prior to moving to Charlotte, we were solely college football fans. We never chose a professional football team to root for because we’ve never lived in a city that hosted a pro team, until now! We thought we might watch an episode or two of the show just to acquaint ourselves with the players, but we ended up binging the entire season! We found the business aspect of managing the team fascinating and really enjoyed getting to see the guys working together in team meetings. I asked Justin if he knew there were so many deep player-to-player pep talks in pro football!

Our home team and city were both so much fun to see on the series. And, I won’t lie, we really are more invested in our players now that we “know” them on a personal level. We may not have left our house, but we did find a new aspect of the Queen City that we can now call “ours!” And we did it all while earning 1.5% cash back on that serious popcorn and candy haul thanks to our Chase Freedom Unlimited card!
