I had the best day ever last week.
My local Anthropologie (on Main Street in Downtown Greenville) invited me to hit the store for a little preview of the new Spring and Summer pieces. I popped in first thing in the am and the amazing store manager, Elizabeth, and apparel manager, Sarah, greeted me with coffee, a gorgeous rack of clothes that were literally being pulled off of the truck and the entire store to myself. It was, without a doubt, the best day ever (except when I had to leave and go to the office, being an adult is hard).

Anyway, while I was pawing all of the merchandise in the store, I found the perfect trench coat to handle this odd weather we’re having in South Carolina. Seriously, it’s 70 one day and 40 the next, making the whole “look like a human who has it together while in public” thing a little tough to handle. Here’s my new solution: take this trench coat, put it on over pajamas, add flats and proceed to Starbucks.
You know what, scratch that whole part about the weather. I need something that can make my pajamas look presentable no matter what the season. And I think this coat is the answer.

The dress I tossed on under the coat turned out to be crazy comfortable and easy to wear – you could certainly take it from weekend to office or MDO drop off without any effort (and let’s be honest, no effort is how I do the whole getting ready thing these days).

Uh, can we please take a moment to check out the pleating on that coat.

I have to admit that I’m impressed with the price point – all of
details are so thought out, from the bright blue piping on the interior
to the fact that it can actually be worn on it’s own as a dress.

Yep. A dress.

More lessons learned from my trip to Anthro are coming soon including which jeans managed to make this 5’9″ mama look like an oompa loompa and which pair made me look like my butt was 2 sizes smaller.
Thanks to Christa Rene Photograpy for snagging the pics and to the team at Anthropologie Greenville for welcoming me into their store!
I’m headed to Napa on Thursday and absolutely cannot wait to hit the skies. I’ll be all over Snap Chat (oliveandtate) so come find me if you want to see all of the wine drinking, carb loading, rain soaked happiness.
