Honestly, I can’t wait to share the story of this month’s date night with Chase Freedom Unlimited because it was an accidental date night. We planned a fun evening out for our sweet five-year old son, but when it came time to leave for our night at the ballpark, he actually asked to stay home with his baby sister and our babysitter! 
We couldn’t believe it, but after double checking his life choices, we jumped at the chance to snag a date night where there once was none! We had tickets to a Charlotte Knights game, our local baseball team, and loved getting to spend time in the downtown neighborhood of our city.
After our adventure, we highly recommend that you add attending a Knights game to your “Summer Date Ideas” list. Pro Tip: plan to snag seats in the Home Plate Club. You’ll have a seat right behind home plate (and with the best views of the Queen City) and access to the indoor, air-conditioned club level. We used our Chase Freedom Unlimited card to snag dinner and drinks from the happiness of the air conditioned lounge. Once the evening cooled off a bit, we popped out to watch a few innings in our seats. 
Home Plate Club seats are perfect for date nights and would be amazing with littles in tow – it’s not too loud, temp controlled and protects from the elements. A quick summer storm rolled through during the game and we just happily carried on with our date night while most ran for cover until the rain passed. 
We also managed to grab a little fan gear so we could rep our home team. Of course we used my cash back card so that I’m always earning and banking a little extra to put towards next month’s date night!    
The Knights stadium is so beautifully maintained, full of local craft beers, amazing eats like pulled pork tater tot “nachos” and incredibly friendly staff who don’t mind snapping a date night pic for you. 
I’ve loved our date night journey so far and am so glad that we set spending intentional time together as one of our 2019 goals. We’ve managed to sneak in dates that we felt just wouldn’t fit into our schedule, been more flexible and jumped on the chance to head out just the two of us, and have made it all happen within the chaos that is our normal life. And to think we’re doing it all while earning 1.5% cash back on every purchase – that’s just the icing on the cake!
