Of course, I’m linking up with April and friends for another round of Five on Friday…
1. Nesting
Whoa baby, nesting is no joke. I got home on Tuesday and spent Wednesday cleaning the house but no matter how hard I cleaned I just couldn’t get over one thing: our hall runner. I have loathed that runner and the matching stair runner since the day we moved in. My mom cleaned it on her hands and knees and told me it was disgusting and a professional cleaning lady told me to just rip it out, that it would never get clean. And then we had water damage that leaked onto the runner. Ya’ll I ripped that runner up by myself. Justin came home from work and was like uuuuuh ok….and then had to help be because I didn’t do the best job. But that baby is gone. Stay tuned for progress updates.
2. Weekend To Do List
I think we’ve decided that this is the weekend that we’re headed south of Boston to our nearest Ikea to pick up the last big piece of furniture for baby boy’s nursery. It’s a hard 4.5 hour drive but it’s worth it to get this room going! On our way back through Boston we’ll stop by West Elm to grab his rug and wish all of Monday’s Marathon runners luck.
3. Easter Brunch
The necessary ingredients are purchased and Easter Brunch is in the works. A honey ham is one of my favorites and I honestly can’t wait to get that guy in the oven. I love that my little family in Maine wants to do Holiday traditions and expects that we do it right!
4. Rings
I know this is silly but I really miss wearing my wedding rings. It’s been so long since I’ve been able to jam them onto my finger (which is a small price to pay for growing this giant kid inside of me) but I can’t wait to get them back on my hand as soon as I can.
5. I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter weekend!
I would miss my rings too! Being a newlywed still the newness of them still hasn't gone away. You do wonder if people think you're going to be a single mom since you don't have wedding rings on! Oh well it's only for a little bit longer. I have friends who could careless about wearing there's. Not me! Have a great weekend!
Girl 4.5 hours for IKEA? You are dedicated – I would just get something more expensive since you will be spending it on gas anyhow! Have a great weekend!!
My hubby is smoking a ham for our Thanksgiving! There is something about Easter and always having ham. Enjoy your weekend!
I love that you pulled out that runner by yourself! love it, totally something I would do too. One day my bf will come home and the couch is going to be gone. 😉
That IKEA is massive!!! Enjoy the weekend!!
So I'm not the only one who is willing to drive hours for an Ikea trip! haha! So excited to see how the nursery comes together! Have a great Easter weekend!
I found your blog a month or so ago through 5 on Friday. I am a fellow Southerner stuck up North. Just a heads up, there is a Sonic about 20 minutes north of Boston. When we lived in Vermont and went to Boston to visit, you better believe that I made my husband stop so I could have a Route 44 diet cherry limeade!
